Structural Engineer
Position Summary:
BEI Architects & Engineers is searching for a Licensed Structural Engineer to join its growing team. You will develop and manage projects for the design of industrial/manufacturing and commercial buildings, ensuring conformance with building codes and related standards. As an Engineer, you will perform professional level analysis and design of superstructures and foundation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering team in the analysis and design of various structures and in the preparation of construction drawings and specifications
- Work with a full service design team on the design of buildings
- Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent, codes and standards
- Communicate effectively with clients when necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is an asset)
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design
- LEED AP is an asset
- Must be a registered EIT
- Technical competency in the design of structural building systems
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Building Codes and design standards
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM/Revit) and AutoCAD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction and correspondence with customers and design team
